TALK (Teams of Adults Listening to Kids)
Research into high profile incidents of violence in schools indicate that young people were aware of the potential threat but did not feel confident in talking to adults who could have helped. Many, if not most, youth victims do not report their victimization to police or other authorities. Early victimization of youth correlates significantly with later offending behaviour and addressing that victimization is an important step in combating youth violence. http://www.talkniagara.com/

Niagara Pride
The six original members of Niagara Pride (formerly known as The GLBTQ Youth Coalition) began meeting in the spring of 1997 because of their shared concern over the lack of community support and services for youth who identify as gay and lesbian. In their professional lives these representatives from the gay community (and PFLAG) were working primarily with youth in the social service, education and justice sectors. Due to their extensive experience personally and professionally, they were able to identify issues such as homophobia, lack of awareness on the part of educators and service providers, and issues of isolation and bullying that were affecting GLBTQ (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender & Questioning) youth across the Niagara Region.   http://www.niagarapride.ca/
